The abstract work begins from nothingness, wordless as with music…an improvised, intuitive, process-oriented practice with works evolving from previous sessions, attentive to chance phenomenal occurrences...sometimes then erased, scrubbed, layered again, sanded…aiming towards an undirected, suggestive, perceptual experience.

Sometimes surprised when a piece starts and finishes in a day; not often, but rather over weeks, months or years…Hopefully a work will eventually settle into itself, acquiring an aura of presence.
